The Origin
It started with curiosity. Looking at the outputs of neural networks and wondering: what are they actually doing in there?
The more I looked, the more I realized that understanding AI isn't just an academic exercise — it's a necessity. As these systems become more powerful and more integrated into our lives, we need to be able to look inside them. To trust, but verify. To illuminate the black box.
That's where the name comes from. Baldr — the Norse god of light, wisdom, and beauty. The son of Odin who could illuminate any darkness. The name felt right: we bring light to the machine mind.
Light of Baldr isn't just about AI, though. Security, infrastructure, research — they're all connected. You can't secure what you don't understand. You can't deploy what you can't trust. Every piece feeds into the others.

I came to AI interpretability through an unusual path — security research, infrastructure engineering, and a stubborn need to understand how things actually work. Not content with treating neural networks as black boxes, I started digging into the internals.
Now I spend my time training sparse autoencoders, building GPU clusters, breaking into systems (with permission), and trying to figure out what exactly these models have learned.
The work speaks for itself. No credentials list, no metrics. Just the research, the code, and the results.

Why “Light of Baldr”?
In Norse mythology, Baldr was the god of light, purity, and wisdom. Son of Odin and Frigg, he was known as the wisest, most eloquent, and most beloved of the gods. His light could illuminate any darkness.
We bring that light to the machine mind. Illuminating the black box. Understanding what AI systems see, think, and know. The name bridges ancient wisdom with modern intelligence — the same deliberate craft that built the great halls of old, applied to the neural architectures of today.
